We may notice the signs, but are the lung cancer symptoms in women overlooked too often? Women have a very busy schedule today with both family and work as well as trying to find free time to take care of themselves. Many times, symptoms of a medical issue are tossed aside until it’s too late.

With so many different medical issues that could be possible, it is extremely hard to know what the ailment may be without having an “M.D.” or a “PhD” behind your name. Most medical problems begin with similar symptoms so the individual must pay attention to when the signs occur, what possibly made that symptom begin/end and the duration of that particular symptom.

Don’t sweep away the signs

Again, in a woman’s busy day she will typically brush aside the fact that she is experiencing bloating or changes in her skin or perhaps even deal with fatigue and will all be blamed on various reasons that may not be the actual cause. These three signs are indeed signs of so many different medical issues that it can be very difficult to believe that they would be lung cancer symptoms in women.

It can be so frustrating when symptoms are so generic and taking the time to visit your doctor just doesn’t seem worth it. Cancer, regardless of what kind it is, is something that shouldn’t be swept under the rug. It is very important, especially as we age to stop and listen to our bodies when something out of the ordinary occurs. What are some of these signs that could be swept but should actually be recognized and dually noted?

Abdominal pain combined with depression

Bloating

Difficulty swallowing

Fatigue

Fever

Indigestion

Lymph node changes

Mouth changes

Pain

Persistent cough

Skin changing

Weight loss unexplainable

The ailments noted in the above list are some of the lung cancer symptoms in women. Every single symptom noted are common and can be felt alone or with other symptoms. Although common, if they persist for several weeks by themselves or combined with other symptoms please take the time and consult with your doctor.

A fever can occur once the cancer has begun to spread and can be due to leukemia or perhaps lymphoma. Fatigue could refer to colon or even a stomach cancer. Having a difficulty swallowing could be due to cancer in the gastrointestinal tract. If you have any of these symptoms, that can also be lung cancer symptoms in women, for several weeks or more it is best to take an hour out of your day and see your doctor.

You are important too

Could one be in denial or is she just being paranoid about what she is feeling? Why do we take risks with our health? Would we do this with our spouse’s or our children’s health? No, we

wouldn’t but so often our health is placed on the back burner and only gets moved to the front due to the contents of the pot are boiling over and out of control.

If you are not healthy and active, your quality of life will suffer and you don’t deserve that. You are important too and your family and friends do love you and care for you more than you may think. Lung cancer symptoms in women should not be ignored, ever.

Are there unique kidney stone symptoms for women? How do kidney stones form and are they detrimental to our bodies? How do they form and can they be prevented? Kidney stones can occur in men and women and will affect everyone differently.

What is a kidney stone?

A kidney stone (Nephrolithiasis) is not actually a rock but is made of a substance that creates a particle that is extremely hard, like a rock, and is found in the kidney. It is constructed of a crystalline mineral which is formed either within the urinary tract or in the kidney. Kidney stones may form and will never affect us; however, when the stone grows to a certain size and/or is located in a sensitive spot it can cause issues.

How are the stones formed?

The stones are formed from substances found within the urine and will typically form when urine volume is low or the substance they are made from is high. Dehydration, certain medications, heredity and even your diet can be causes of stones forming. These can be considered a preempt to kidney stone symptoms for women that women should take notice of. Although most kidney stones will pass unnoticed, there are stones that can cause excruciating pain.

Although men are more susceptible to developing kidney stones than women, women will still develop these unique stones at least once within their lifetime. Stones generally begin forming between the ages of 20 and 50 and once you have had one stone, that individual is more likely to experience another. This is something you don’t want to hear, but it is important to know as a preventative measure.

Kidney stone symptoms for women

Before the kidney stone symptoms for women are listed, it is important to restate that not all stones will cause any symptoms or at least the symptoms will be very mild and be quickly dismissed. In addition, not all of the symptoms will be experienced so it is important to know what the symptoms are.

One of the most common is pain. Pain can be that of cramping and excruciating which can be felt in the lower back, in the side, abdomen and even in the groin areas. The pain can be constant or come in waves. The pain can be so intense that the sufferer may experience nausea and vomiting too.

Other than pain, another common sign is blood in the urine. There may or may not be other symptoms occurring at the same time which could possibly lead you to think there may be something else wrong. An infection can also exist at the same time and make matters worse. Blood in the urine is a sign that something is wrong must not be swept under the rug. You may think that perhaps you are dealing with a UTI and if misdiagnosed, the condition will quickly worsen and make matters worse.

Kidney stones can cause pain that you cannot compare to any other type of pain you may experience. Living right and eating healthy is important but so is knowing the kidney stone symptoms for women to keep your health on track.

Bladder infection symptoms in women should never go unaddressed. Anyone’s health, regardless of the sex, is important and when signs are showing that there is an issue the individual should take notice. A bladder infection may not seem too important but it is an infection and does require attention none the less.

Have you ever had a bladder infection? Oh my gosh; you do your best to drink water and get to the bathroom when the urge arises but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Before you know it, you are having issues that you just don’t have time for. The urinary tract is very important to remove unwanted waste so it its health must be maintained.

What happens is that bacteria manages to enter into the urinary tract via the urethra, continue traveling up further into the body and finally affecting the bladder and perhaps other parts of the urinary tract. There are a number of causes as to why bacteria enters into to the body. One of these causes are due to bacteria growing naturally around the vaginal area and enter during intercourse.

Another cause, which is very common, is waiting too long to head to the bathroom and urinate. In this situation, over time the bladder walls are stretched (due to holding a large amount) and eventually become weak and allow infection to set in if it gets the chance. In addition, if the bladder is not completely drained infection can also set in at this time too. What about the bladder infection symptoms in women?

The bladder infection symptoms in women are very common among all sexes and can all occur at once or individually. The most common symptoms are pain during urination and having an urge to urinate but are unable to or only a little urine is released. Although there are other symptoms that you should be aware of and these are:

bad, strong odor

blood in urine

pain in lower abdomen, sides and/or back

chills

fever

nausea

vomiting

other vaginal infections

Keep in mind that not all of the bladder infection symptoms in women will occur when a bladder infection occurs. Generally, when the woman has pain when urinating they quickly seek medical help. If the condition is not addressed, the symptoms will worsen and possibly cause more medical issues and possibly irreversible damage.

The diagnosis is determined from taking a urine sample and checking for the bacteria and white blood cell count within the sample. If a pelvic exam is required, it may be done at the same time. If a positive diagnosis is given, then typically antibiotics are given. If UTI’s are reoccurring, a cystoscopy may be done. A custoscopy is when a tube is inserted up into the urethra into the bladder.

Treatment can last 3 or more days and includes drinking lots of fluids especially water. This is the time to recoup and let your body heal itself. Knowing what the bladder infection symptoms in women are will help prevent and minimize unnecessary discomfort and frustration of an UTI.

Do you know what the COPD signs and symptoms are? There are so many medical ailments that we “must know about” today that it’s not funny. In addition, so many medical problems seem to have symptoms that are the same so correctly diagnosing the symptoms can sometimes be an issue.

The typical COPD signs and symptoms are a chronic cough, tightness in the chest, a shortness of breath and wheezing. These symptoms are very generalized and can occur for many other medical issues; however, these are symptoms that should not be ignored. If and when there is concern for a more thorough exam, there are tests that can be run to help the medical physician determine exactly what is ailing the patient.

What initiates COPD (by the way, this means Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and why does it drastically affect the sufferer? Over time, irritants negatively affect the lungs and cause the individual to have breathing difficulties. Irritants such as (but not limited to) smoke, air pollution and high levels of dust can all cause COPD of a period of time. Other causes are chronic asthmatic bronchitis and also emphysema; these two are actually two of the most common causes of COPD.

The COPD signs and symptoms can become so intense that it can cause breathing issues in which exhaling is a chore. Exhaling can be labor intensive at times due to the air ways being blocked. In regards to chronic asthmatic bronchitis, the blocked air passages cause coughing and wheezing. In addition, an increase of mucus occurs and adds to the blockage that is occurring.

With emphysema, the blockage is due to the collapse of the very tiny air sacs that are found within the lungs. When the air sacs are destroyed, the exchange of necessary oxygen for carbon dioxide is decreased which causes obvious breathing issues.

The best way to avoid COPD is to avoid situations which could possibly lead to this disease. We can’t always prevent every symptom but steps can be taken to greatly minimize the chances of being diagnosed with COPD. The biggest thing that one can do is to not smoke and if you do smoke to quit. If you currently smoke, find a program that you like to help you quit.

In regards to air pollutants, you can’t hold your breath forever. Like the air quality at work can even affect you and you have to breathe to do your job. Chemical fumes, high levels of dust and other particles can over time lead to COPD. Wearing a mask and/or other breathing apparatus can reduce the exposure to these particles than can harm your lungs.

To properly diagnosis the COPD signs and symptoms for those who have a history of breathing issues and smoke there are several tests that can be performed. These particular tests are done to verify the diagnosis so that the proper treatment(s) can be administered. Tests such as:

chest x-ray (checks for all possible lung issues)

CT scan (multiple angles obtained/viewed during one test)

arterial blood gas analysis (determines oxygen absorption levels in blood)

sputum exam (analyzes mucus cells)

pulmonary function tests (determining lung capacity inhaling and exhaling)

Although this chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is common, it can be avoided if you are able to limit or refrain from being in circumstances in which the amount of air pollutants are very limited. Having a knowledge of the COPD signs and symptoms will help you seek medical help before the condition drastically affects your daily life.

How is one to know if a complex cyst on ovary exists? You can’t unless an exam, perhaps an ultrasound is done or it bursts. As you can imagine, cysts are quite small so it is almost impossible for a woman to know she has one without an exam of some sort. If you have any concerns about your body, please consult with your medical physician.

What is a complex cyst?

A complex cyst on ovary can appear to look very similar to a typically ovarian cyst that can occur at any given time. The cyst is found in the same places as a typical cyst but has liquid and solid components. If a complex cyst is not discovered, it could be life threatening. There are several kinds of complex cysts and several of them will be discussed within this article. Again, if you need further discussion, please consult with your doctor.

Cystadenomas – This particular type of cyst is filled with mucus and a liquid. They tend to twist as they grow when can cause pain. In addition, this type can grow quite large which the size itself can cause issues.

Dermoid – Some of the same basic cells that are used to create the human egg can create this type of complex cyst. This cyst can appear to be an embryo so a thorough exam is necessary. Also, in rare cases the cyst may twist which is another characteristic of a complex cyst on ovary.

Endometrioma – This type of cyst forms within the uterus’ wall as it is actually formed from the tissue in the wall itself. Over time, a sac develops and becomes the cyst. This particular type of cyst can be harmful to not only the ovary but the surrounding organs as well.

Why should you be concerned?

In the unfortunate circumstances that a complex cyst on ovary occurs, there can be extreme medical issues that follow that can be prevented or at least minimized if medical help is obtained quickly. Probably the most noticeable symptom of a complex cyst is that of pain in the lower abdomen area. However, the pain can be felt in the butt, the thighs and lower back too. Other symptoms such as tender breasts, nausea, pain during intercourse, vomiting and/or irregular menstrual periods can all by signs to watch for.

The diagnosis of a complex cyst on ovary could actually be an ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis or other pelvic inflammatory disease. The worst case scenario is fatality but this only occurs in rare cases. With modern technology through blood tests and ultrasounds, proper diagnosis can be given.

The signs and symptoms are for the most part common with other medial ailments that a woman can experience. By have some understanding of her body and listening to her body, a woman can recognize that something is wrong is seek medical guidance. The result could be a simple diagnosis or it could be something that requires further treatment. I am not a medical doctor, but I do care and I know that you need to take care of yourself. If you have concerns about a complex cyst on ovary, please seek medical counsel.

When the body functions slow down, it makes it tougher and sometimes more frustrating to get through the day. Sometimes we deal with one or more body issues that we may mistake as symptoms caused by something different than we may think. One particular medical condition in which we may mistake for something else is hypothyroidism and there are supplements for hypothyroidism available.

Many of us have probably heard of hyperthyroidism and this is when the thyroid processes speed up and there a number of symptoms that can be harmful to the body if not treated in a timely manner. On the opposite end of the spectrum is hypothyroidism. Not to say that hypothyroidism can be harmful but usually when left unchecked otherwise it can easily be corrected by a number of different treatments. Due to the many vague symptoms that hypothyroidism causes, it can be difficult for the diagnosis to be validated without having a blood test done. If you have any concerns, consult with your doctor.

The majority of the time, hypothyroidism can be corrected by taking supplements which you can buy either over the counter or your doctor may have a special one that he will prescribe for you. Many times though, the supplements you can get at your local natural food store or pharmacy offer your body exactly what it needs to put the thyroid back in check and keep it functioning as it should.

As most of know, the supplement isle holds many different types from A to Z and beyond. Of course, knowing which supplement(s) you might need can be the tricky part. Your doctor can help you choose or perhaps even the pharmacist can guide you towards a good start; sometimes by simply adding or removing one thing from your daily diet can make all the difference in how your body functions.

Probably the two most important supplements that you can add are Iodine and Tyrosine. These two work together and make the thyroid hormone production produce as it was made to. Considered an amino acid, Tyrosine, used Iodine to create hormones in the thyroid. Iodine can be found naturally in food but can also be found as a supplement, this is the same for Tyrosine (which is found in meats and some dairy products).

Selenium is another compound that is found naturally in the body and some people who are diagnosed with hypothyroidism have a selenium deficiency. Selenium deficiency is rarer in the United States and the higher rates are primarily in China. This product is needed for the T4 hormone to ignite the productivity of the T3 hormone and if there is not light then this is also a cause for the thyroid to slow down the production line. Selenium can also be found in meats, seafood and some nuts.

Having a thyroid problem, regardless if it’s a hyper or hypothyroidism can be frustrating to deal with at times but it is important to treat the condition accordingly. Of course, diagnosing can be an issue due to fact that the symptoms are common symptoms of other various medical conditions. Once correctly diagnosed, a Hypothyroidism Natural Treatment might just be the best option for you.

Symptoms, as common as they are, can be anything from a lack of energy, weight gain, swelling of the face, joint or muscle pain, depression or a slowed heart rate to name just a few. Although medical conditions such as iodine deficiency, pregnancy and congenital disease can also cause hypothyroidism. The severity of the symptoms and the number of symptoms can vary from sufferer to sufferer and it is possible that there may not even be any symptoms. Symptoms are due to a reduction in thyroid hormone production although, as noted earlier, the common symptoms make it difficult to correctly diagnosis the problem.

Hyperthyroidism is when the production of thyroid hormones increases so the opposite is true of hypothyroidism. When the amount of hormone production slows, the body processes slows so the treatments are meant to encourage the production of the thyroid hormones. If you have symptoms that have been noted or above or you just haven’t been feeling yourself, you may want to discuss your concerns with your doctor.

Your doctor will ask a series of questions and perhaps you have even have some blood work done to validate the diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Once the proper diagnosis has been given, then your doctor will discuss with you the best method of treatment for your particular condition. More than likely, your doctor will want to prescribe you medication but there are alternatives that are less harmful to the body but the choice is ultimately yours.

There are natural herbs and supplements that can be used as a hypothyroidism natural treatment; treatments can also include changing of the diet to include iron rich foods, foods that are high in Tyrosine or oils such as coconut oil. If hypothyroidism is due to other medical conditions, once those are resolved if possible then the hypothyroidism will disappear. You may try to treat symptoms yourself as most of us try to do, but sometimes the common symptoms that occur are due to other medical ailments so it would be best to talk with your doctor.

Today we hear about this medical issue and that medical issue and we are bombarded with commercials left and right about take this pill or that pill but then there are a ton of side effects that go along with taking the modern medicine. What happened to try and resolving the problem naturally by making alternative steps. One such medical ailment can be correct without modern medicine and eating the right foods for hypothyroidism is one of these steps.

Let me first state that the thyroid can slow down and it can speed up. If the thyroid speeds up then the condition is called hyperthyroidism and if it slows down it is called hypothyroidism. Just as the name “hyper” suggests it means to go fast and then the opposite “hypo” is to slow down. When a person has hypothyroidism, some of the symptoms are depression, weight gain (you’re not burning the calories) and lethargy (you have no energy). These symptoms are common of many medical ailments so in order to correctly diagnosis yourself, either do some more research and discuss your concerns with your doctor.

When the thyroid slows down, there is a loss of Tyrosine which is an amino acid that is naturally found in the body and when it works with iodine (a compound in salt) it helps the thyroid function correctly. There is medication available that your doctor can prescribe but you should try changing your diet first. There are many foods that contain Tyrosine that you may already be eating but perhaps you are not getting enough of it. The foods for hypothyroidism are numerous so it’s not like you’re going to starve.

Check Out These Foods

Foods that contain Tyrosine have a great deal of protein in them such as turkey and chicken (especially the chicken breast). There is fish of which this list is quite long but includes salmon, shell fish and salt water fish (due to the iodine) and tuna. The dairy category has a few as well because dairy products come from animals that are protein based; this list includes low fat milk and yogurt. Other great foods are avocados, almonds, pumpkin seeds, bananas, garlic (doesn’t garlic help with almost anything?), unrefined grains and the list goes on.

Foods for Hypothyroidism

The point here is that there are a lot of yummy foods that are available to us that can provide us what we need. It is best to talk with your doctor to insure that you do have a thyroid problem and what the best route to get your thyroid back on track is. You are important, so please take care of yourself!

No one wants to be sick and even worse, find out that there may be a medical condition that is very serious. Today there are a number of medical issues that are becoming more dominant in the news; one of them is cancer. Cancer has been around for centuries and how it’s treated has changed. Ovarian cancer is definitely a serious condition; let’s review the ovarian cancer stages.

The first thing, of course, is to determine the location and size of the cancer that one has. This is very important to determine the best treatment process for the patient. The different stages were developed by the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics and is used worldwide. The predictions that this system uses is extremely accurate of predicting the ovarian cancer prognosis.

The first stage is determines reviewing the ovaries to determine their overall health and where the tumor(s) is located. Usually in the first stage, the cancer is held in the inside by one ovary, are not found on the outside of the ovary nor within the pelvis or abdomen. Unfortunately, stage 1 can manifest into the prognosis of the cancer spreading to the second ovary.

The second state is the prognosis of the cancer being determined that it is indeed in the second ovary as well as the first. In addition, the cancer has spread to other parts of the body such as the uterus, Fallopian tubes, pelvis, bladder, sigmoid colon or the rectum. Stage 2 also can develop further into the areas just noted but may move in a different pattern from person to person.

The third stage occurs when the cancer spreads to the outside of the pelvis and into the abdominal area as well as possibly the lymph nodes. It must be noted that it is possible that the patient could at this time have only one affected ovary but usually it’s both.

The final stage is obviously the most advanced and the cancer cells are in one or both ovaries as well as many other parts of the body such as the lungs and the liver. At this point, there will be a more fierce action taken to stop the cancer from moving further in the body.

Patients are usually submitted to chemotherapy treatments and possibly other drugs to reduce the cancer with every intention to get the patient in reverse motion back to stage 3. It is possible that the patient may undergo surgery to remove the cancer; this is discussed between the doctor and the patient.
